Fundamentals of Hospice

The Fundamentals of Hospice is a four module recorded overview of the important aspects of home hospice.  The content begins with the concepts of eligibility, election, and benefits in accordance with the conditions of participation and progresses to management of the terminally ill patient.  Written and narrated by a seasoned hospice professional, it’s a fast and easy way to build a solid foundation of knowledge for your staff.

Use all four as a great start to new employee orientation. The modules are pre-recorded with post-tests to ensure the participants gain the most knowledge.

Module 1—Eligibility, Election, and Duration of Benefits – This module covers a brief overview of the concept of hospice along with the history. General information regarding eligibility, election, and duration of benefits will also be discussed along with an understanding of the Terminal Diagnosis.

Module 2—Conditions of Participation Overview for Clinicians – This module provides a more in-depth look at eligibility and election of hospice as related to Subpart B of the Code of Federal Regulations along with Review of Subpart C/D, Hospice Conditions of Participation

Module 3—Hospice Admission and Plan of Care Development – This module dives deep into managing the different levels of care for hospice patients along with best practice documentation requirements and building the plan of care.

Module 4—Hospice Patient Care and Visit Management – This module steps into the world of managing a hospice patient and discusses factors to consider for recertification along with what entails a good visit. This module further discusses some of the challenges daily facing the hospice clinician including wound care, managing after hours care, medication, death, miscellaneous services along with cultural competence.
